A Belated Shannah Tovah Umetukah (a Good and Sweet Year)

Blowing the Ram's Horn on Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year)
I know, I'm a day and a half late.   So sue me!   Technically the Jewish New Year began Wednesday evening, 20th September at Sundown and ends Friday evening,  22nd September, at sundown.  (The custom is to have two days for each holiday since one isn't really sure about the calendar.)

This is year 5778 since God created Adam and Eve, which is the beginning (we disregard the earlier 5 or 6 days).    And with that, Shannah Tovah Umetukah--have a good and sweet year!

Swan Song

"So long it's been good to know you";;;Woody Guthrie

The time has come to say goodbye to this blog.   I may post very occasional

pieces, but will confine my major effort to writing a science text for the Catholic innumerate, to explain how and when science intersects Catholic teaching.   My previous efforts have not been altogether successful, because many Catholics (as a subpopulation of Americans) have not been taught what science is all about.  So I have to build that background before the Catholic faithful can appreciate that the Good Lord gave us the beauty of a universe to be understood rationally, and that there's no conflict between what science tells us about that universe and Catholic teaching.

I'll be publishing once or twice a month in Aleteia.org and also coming back to Catholic Stand with monthly articles (probably around the first Wednesday of each month), so look for me there if withdrawal symptoms become extreme.

And thank you all for reading, commenting and helping me to learn about God's Creation.

God Bless,

Shalom,

bob k.
